It could be any number of things. Just think of the first thing someone could fake over the medium of the internet and there you have it.

This community is extremely interactive, though. So I'm sure that even if someone tried to fake being "zenny", they would be found out quickly.

I really like the air of honesty around here, though. Even when it's brutal, it's still refreshing. So I honestly can't find a reason anyone would come around here looking to gain something unfairly. It would be especially odd since a Zendo is a place to "let fall body and mind", so to say. Haha!

      Kyle,

I think what Jishin is saying is there is no "faking," whether we are just taking on the form of certain actions and rituals or doing them in all sincerity, we are doing what we are doing. Or not. It's all emptiness, no faking to be done. Am I close Jishin?

Ok this thread inspired me to sign up for a retreat weekend at Zen Mountain Monastery (John Daido Loori's Mountains and Rivers Order), in two weeks. Now I need to go scoop fake horse poop and buy fake groceries.

                  Mr. K,

I agree with what you say. At the end of the day we are not Japanese, American or Mexican. We are just people practicing zen and living a life as a whole. It's our practice. Life is our zendo.

The division mind must be destroyed when practicing under the same roof... the thing is, here at Treeleaf we have a very big roof

                  Thank you for your posts.

                  Gassho,
