About 20 minutes north of me there is a temple in Princeton, NJ. The New Jersey Vihara Buddhist Meditation Center. It serves the Theravada Sri Lankan community. Behind their building is an amazing 30 ft. (10m) statue of a Snow White Buddha. It is bathed in lights at night. It has become a roadside attraction and been featured in magazines and websites. There is also a path through a wooded area with sign posts quoting the Dhammapada that really struck me. If you're ever in the area you gotta go.
Thank you for posting all the beautiful pictures.
I enjoy, getting a glimpse of your lives.
Attached is a picture of a 6,5cm diameter old, wooden, lacquered 'toy', I bought for myself.
If you guess, what's inside, I'll show a picture of it...
(hopefully, someone guesses right, I am really eager to show ;-) )

(The Sanskrit character on the lid of this 19th century Japanese Zushi reads 'Shaka' (The historical Buddha) )
The imho unusual mudra mix caught my attention. Looks like a mix of teaching and fearlessness mudras.
I hope, this practice is teaching me fearlessness.
Should've been prepared for this, when asking you to look through the shiny surface of the things around.
Of course, you're right.
Here is your price

Gassho,

Too funny, I actually was going to say Buddha, as Buddha is everywhere and in all things ... but then you know. Looks beautiful!!! =)
