Washin, your practice is an inspiration indeed. And a teaching that outweighs anything I have ever seen, heard or read before.

Metta to you and all beings. That we may see, feel, live our connectedness.

        Nine deep bows.

Washin, my old dharma buddy, it’s been years since we spoke directly but you’ve always been in my thoughts, especially lately. Every time is see Odessa on the map of Ukraine I think of you. I don’t often come here lately- I don’t know why - but I came here to find you and to thank you for your practice and decency and integrity and to tell you you are in my thoughts and heart at this awful moment.
Wishing you, and all the people of Ukraine well.

Thank you Seiga. To you and all who tried to join the Zoom room but could not - we reached the maximum of 100 participants (a first for us). Apologies.

In such dark times the practice should be continued. You begin to look at zazen and the Buddha Way differently.

You know, my grandmother also practices at Treeleaf. She doesn't understand English at all, so she is not on the forum. She started sitting zazen after 65 she's years. And now she continues to practice with Washin and me on the morning scheduled sitting at 6.30 am Kiev time. She has always been a restless person, but has changed a lot over the years. Now she demonstrates calmness and readiness to accept any fate.

I am inspired by her practice, and by the practice of many who are not leaving zazen in these times.

                              All the best
