PS - There is no "wrong" or "right" in Zazen ... yet here is a little explanation of the "right" times to bow (A koan) ...

The other video I mention on Zendo decorum is this one, from our "Always Beginners" video Series:

I also recommend a little Talk on why small rituals and procedures are so cherished in the Zendo:

This comes at a timely moment. I just discovered that another war has erupted, this time between the Buddhist nations of Thailand and Cambodia. What are humans doing? Conflicts seem to be everywhere. We apparently need to continue sitting for peace and spreading the Dharma. If we can at least reduce 1% of the suffering in this world, our mission will be worthwhile.

Standing in protest against wars around the world. We must put an end to this insanity!

“Since, in any case, it’s just ordinary people who wage war on each other, everybody is wrong, friend as much as foe. The winner and the loser are in any case just ordinary people.
It’s so sad to watch the world’s conflicts. There’s such a lack of common sense.“ - Kodo Sawaki Roshi - To You (Page 66)

My thoughts also go to Bion sweltering in Spain, with no rain on the plain.

I am grateful for your warm concern! Strangely enough, we're having some really cool days and nights, so I am pretty happy!

During the little Dharma Talk, I mentioned this silly movie ...

(By the way, sorry, looking at it now, it is not very PC or so funny by current standards, with some jokes about the disabled ... )
            .

And so it is no wonder that folks get the wrong ideas about Buddhism in the movies!
