Hi all, I don't mean to bump this topic up, but I remembered it was of interest for some folks here.
While searching for zen talks for my noon walk, I came across this one and thought it would be good to share with those interested in the subject.

It discusses some of the assertions made by Brent Oliver from a zen center point of view.

Thank you for sharing this Walter. Although Bodhin Kjolhede and the RZC is in a somewhat different tradition than ours, I enjoy his talks. I'm looking forward to this one.

I believe that what we do here at Treeleaf is a great start, the question is "what is the next step?". Or, "Is there a next step?" - "If you build it, will they come?'. (A quote from the movie Field of Dreams)
I also believe that Treeleaf will continue to grow. Interesting times....

Perhaps those of us who find we are able could seek to become priests. And if we can clear away enough of our attachments that Jundo and taigu feel transmission is appropriate, those who receive it could offer the dharma to those who may not be able to access treeleaf?

          Hi Chris,

Well, that is fine. However, I do believe in several years of Training and Practice as a Trainee-Priest before even considering to turn anyone loose on the world independently, and there is no guaranty that I would find the person is ready even then. I want to make sure that the people turned loose on the world from here have good qualities.

Definitely. Only once the student is ready of course.
