    Are there any good online general Buddhist calendars or for Google calendars avalable?

    This one is interesting. I don't know if you're looking for a calendar that points to specific celebrations, or what, but this has a few days that are important.

    Maybe it will be what you're looking for. I like that each month comes with a quote form the Dhammapada.

        And, of courst, dates and interpretations for even some of the most central Buddhist holidays ... such as the "Buddha's Birthday" ... vary by months from country to country, sometimes sect to sect ...

        In Japan, "O-bon" is celebrated in July in some regions, in August in others (I just went to a Bon Odori dance practice last night) ...

          Thanks! I'll stick the Soto Zen since two local sanghas have interest in Soto Zen.

          Year 1....when is Year 1? :wink:

          Actually, once when I was a teen I read about the history of the calendar. It threw a monkey wrench into my head about how I/we perceived time, calendar, today, yesterday, and tomorrow.
