And, of courst, dates and interpretations for even some of the most central Buddhist holidays ... such as the "Buddha's Birthday" ... vary by months from country to country, sometimes sect to sect ...

Actually, once when I was a teen I read about the history of the calendar. It threw a monkey wrench into my head about how I/we perceived time, calendar, today, yesterday, and tomorrow.
