An absolutely beautiful ceremony for the newly ordained Daiji Hōkan. Thank you for letting us know about this, Hōkan.
One thing I will mention is Hōkan's okesa was a sangha-sewn project, with more than 40 people contributing stitches to the Robe of Liberation.
Gassho,

Sat today. LAH.

Please excuse any indication that I am trying to teach anything. I am a priest in training and have no qualifications or credentials to teach Zen practice or the Dharma.
What fun that was! It exhausted me even though all I had to do was follow directions. As Nengei said, I am now Daiji Hōkan (大事 法閑). I'm not sure, but I think that the Daiji part won't matter 'till after I die (which probably won't be long now).
The doings were on Zoom and, once I find out if it was recorded, I'll post a link here.
Here's a picture of my son and me at the main alter after the ceremony.Noah-and-Me.jpg It's too bad that we are standing in front of the statue which is, unusually, an image of The Mother of All Buddhas, Prajna Paramita.
Sat today (and apologies for not saying that in my original post. I broke the Treeleaf rules and hadn't sat yet. But today I have.)

Hōkan = 法閑 = Dharma Serenity
To be entirely clear, I am not a hōkan = 幇間 = taikomochi = geisha, but I do wonder if my preceptor was having a bit of fun with me...

Now, don't be a stranger around here either, because this place remains your other home.
Well, thanks. I have been lurking for quite a while but this was too important not to say.
Maybe in a while I'll tell you all about my health issues.
Sat.

I found the recording. It's just a bit over an hour and 45 minutes. I'm not sure that I can recommend it...
