Wow, beautiful house Ansan! Really inspiring to a fellow artist.

Will try and sit with the Zazenkai later.

The Gila Cliff Dwellings look stunning! What a wonderful journey. Thanks Jundo for sharing.

      Hi Ansan,

The book I wrote years ago Desert Lizards; by Randall Gray (on Amazon) is not what you need to learn more about the diversity of life in the Sonoran Desert around your beautiful home. It was written for the zoo, museum and private sector working on husbandry and propagation of some lizard species. I highly recommend "A Field Guide to Amphibians and Reptiles in AZ" byThomas Brennan and Andrew Holllycross. It is available of Amazon (BTW, Desert Iguanans are one of my favorite lizard species )

If I ever get to visit New Mexico, can I come get a tour??

        Jakuden,

Thank you for the kind words. All are welcome in my home (it is how we maintain social contact from the middle of nowhere ) and my tour service provides me an opportunity to share the wonder of the living world and hear myself talk! . Plus I aways learn much from others.

Thank you Doshin, Jundo and Shingen. It felt like I sat zazen in the dessert of New Mexico.

Doshin, when I was a child, I found salamanders under our back step and I took them for bike rides with me. I then let them loose in a pond in our pasture, and I will never forget how happy I was to see them living and free.

I would love to have a tour sometime. What an amazing experience. =)

Jundo, again thank you for all your recordings. It has been so wonderful for someone like me, who is unable to travel and explore like you have been, to be able to enjoy your journey.

              Hello Doshin,

Thank you for your references. I will go to Amazon to look at both books.

This graceful desert iguana climbing our Mesquite tree is a member of a relatively large family that have lived here since we arrived 20 years ago. Each one is differently patterned & colored.

I am unable to sit with you for 8 days because of data but I will sit with you, Jundo & Jishin then.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, environment & knowledge.

BTW, years ago l was commissioned to do a series of drawings of the Mogollon people and had a chance to study their lifestyle & rituals. Lovely!

                      Hi All,

Jishin and I had the privilege of spending the day and evening with Daiho Hilbert Roshi in Las Cruces. A great man. Here is a bit of Zazen together, about 15 minutes, but be warned that there is no ending bell to hear.

Tomorrow, back to Daiho's place for his weekly Zazenkai and a little Ceremony he has planned for me. I may try to netcast, but I fear that this computer is starting to fail a bit. Oh well. I will try,

After that, off to Marfa Texas by car with Jishin. Seems to be sunny there, but our hearts go to all in the path of the big hurricane yesterday and today.

                      Gassho, J

I received a note from Jundo and the storm has impacted his travels. New plans in light of the last leg of his Amtrak adventure being canceled, are that he and his son will rent a car in Las Cruces and drive to Marfa this afternoon. We will take care of them tonight and get them on their way to Austin Texas early tomorrow afternoon. I believe there is a teaching here,,,, let Jundo do that! The big thing is for them to finish their great adventure safely,

Do hope we have a bit of time to sit together and with all of you, but not sure if it will be visible in real time.

I am sure Jundo will give us a update on the details but in short he and Leon are having to duck and cover and take a safer route directly to Dallas and his flight home. Its been a great time following their tracks across the country. Lets all keep them in our hearts on a safe trip home.
