This was my first time to compete in a Kali tournament. I didn't win the match. I won some nasty-looking welts though, which I won't show, though they looked worse than they felt. But more importantly, I won over myself. See, coming from an Aikido background with no absolutely sparring, my biggest challenge was mental. If you've never been hit, the idea of getting hit is scary. But then you get hit and yeah it hurts - and I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that I no longer fear getting hit - but it's not so bad after all. And it was fun sparring full contact, and fter he tournament we held a post-tournament party, which was also fun.

We do have cities in Canada. It's Edmonton on the North Saskatchewan River.

Danny, no, the ice is not smooth. Imagine all these floating pieces pushed into and onto each other.

Nice. Yep there are cities in Canada but they get much fewer the further north you go that's the way I like it! I was in Yellow Knife further up and it's much smaller.

Until about 1900 it was barely a village and has been growing steadily since. When I was born it was a large town of 118000. I didn't realize cities in western Canada had gotten so big especially withall the ice in the river -)😊
