Joyo, Shingen, when I see Violetta sitting like that, I think "that must be shikantaza". The sit, the eyes half open, the stillness.

She is my daughter's poodle and loves sitting at the sun.

Btw, Shingen, Bodhi is such a nice name for a fellow dog.

I just ran across one of my favorite pictures. It is of one of my horses (True) and her baby. The baby's name is Shootin Out The Lights but we call her Mesa, or Mesita. She was the very first foal that I raised. True was a great Mom.

Mesa is just a couple of weeks old here. The picture was taken 4 years ago.



Here is a picture from a week ago (I obviously didn't take this one). She has grown up to be an awesome horse just like her two brothers. She looks a lot like her Mom now.

Well, actually Shingen...Yoshi chases my poor cat around the house, or at least he tries until I stop him. It terrifies her. My little cat is just the sweetest, gentlest little creature ever, so even though she has sharp claws and teeth, she would never use them on him or anyone else.

Kyonin, two cats are lovely also. I'm glad you have them
