And that's honestly a great idea! I haven't tried that. Maybe I could even do a drawing or painting

Here is my altar currently. I remain a Christian as I practice Zen, so I still believe in God and the lessons Jesus taught. Hence having a Bible and two crosses. The green cross on the left is a placeholder for a Buddha, the cross on the right is a placeholder for an altar guardian. You can see that I offer tea and rice from time to time. I also light a candle and burn incense as aim able. I know this is definitely out of the ordinary, but it is close to my heart for the time being.

Also, here is a box I've bought for storing my juzu beads to keep them safe when not in use. It is a craft store box, so I'll likely be painting it red, attaching a tag with a painted design on it, and then clear coating it

Your home altar is great, Victor. I think our home altar should reflect ourselves. I don't see anything wrong with a Christian (or Muslim, or Jew, or Hindu, or Shinto, or Candomble believers) to also practice Zen, unless our particular church that requires us to hate everyone who doesn’t believe in them, hate LGBTQ+ people or elect a neofascist President (sorry, it happened here in Brazil!).

There are many Zen Buddhist Christians. I myself came from a very very Catholic family. I still haven't told them yet that I don't consider myself a Christian anymore (only my wife and my closest cousin know). I don’t know if I will, as it can became a source of suffering for them.

I still hold dear to the Our Lady of Aparecida little statue that my great-grandmother gave me some years before passing away:

          IMG_3648.jpg

And sometimes I go to the mass with my mother and grandmother and pray to Mary Bodhisattva and Jesus Bodhisattva. I consider them to be faces of compassion like Kannon Bodhisattva and Amida Buddha. They are not two, by the way.

Meitou... what exactly is going on in your pic, maybe because it’s on my phone (my computer has been dead for a month also!) I can’t figure it out.

Sorry Jakuden I have only just seen this. I took the pic in the street looking up at the underneath of a balcony. At some time in the past a plant had either climbed up or down from above and part of it still clings to the underside, even though the rest of it has gone. Very odd as it seems to be alive but can't be.

The first one looks like Hanuman (Hindu Ape-God), it is a wonderful figure.

Doyu I love this photo; it reminds me also of Welsh coracles, small hand made boats used for river fishing, made of willow, animal hide and tar.

Yes, it is called a Micro Poke Boat (for poking around in marshes and such) and is a cross between a kayak and a coracle. It is very stable and weighs 7.7 kilos. _()_
