I agree with Tairin... the depth of the Precepts is profound. I enjoy reading Aitken Roshi's essays. He nudges me to think about each precept in ways that I would never have considered.
Each year during our readings I am reminded of the subtle depth in the Precepts. I vow to seek as I can, in this body and life, to uphold each of the Precepts.
Keeping the precepts is as simple as going from point A to point B by way of the rest of the alphabet.
We'll stray from the path again and again, but the precepts are the waypoints to get us back on track. Luckily, they permeate every aspect of our lives and give us plenty of opportunities to follow the path.
