Sorry I had to leave the Zazenkai early tonight. It is a long story, but the short version is that these two baby bunnies would certainly have died overnight, but instead they are safe at a wildlife care facility.

Tonight Gojo Bodhisattva is the volunteer wildlife rehabilitators who work extraordinary hours for no pay, simply to care for the many beings who are brought to them.

      Nine bows,

I am glad the bunnies are safe!

Sat my first Zazenkai today with the recorded version. During the second sitting my 5 year old came in. He sat a bit with me and wondered why nobody in the video moved or talked He also rang the bell a lot. I used to get annoyed when he "interrupted" me. Now, I just tried to stay there and be with it. Next time I will try to get up earlier though.

This connects to the point in my talk about human beings and our animal natures. Human beings have the beautiful power to help not only members of their own species including strangers (a wondrous capacity alone), but also creatures from other species ... something very rare in the animal kingdom. Human beings have such a wonderful capacity for caring and charity.

                  Lovely.

We can sit, we can save baby bunnies on Easter weekend, we can love each other and the world... We may not stop war, yet we are the humble antidote to war. So grateful to sit with all of you.

Looks like we missed that war this weekend. Well, that is good news for now.

WASHINGTON -- The problem of North Korea’s nuclear threat is “coming to a head,” President Donald Trump’s national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, said Sunday following the country’s failed missile test.

That’s the consensus of Mr. Trump, allies in the region like Japan and South Korea, and Chinese leaders, McMaster said on ABC’s “This Week.”

McMaster didn’t directly answer when asked whether military options are still on the table, saying that “all our options on the table” are undergoing “refinement and further development.” Later, McMaster said, “it’s time for us to undertake all actions we can, short of a military option, to try to resolve this peacefully.”
