    August 18-19th Treeleaf Weekly Zazenkai - Why Jukai ... What's Ango ...

Today's little Talk will reflect on the reason for our upcoming Jukai and Ango season.

For more information on JUKAI (Undertaking the Precepts): JUKAI LINK

... and ANGO (The 90 Days of Dedicated Practice): ANGO LINK

    Dear All,

Please sit our Treeleaf Zazenkai for 90 minutes with Zazen, Heart Sutra and more:

10am Japan Saturday morning, NY 9pm, LA 6pm Friday night, London 2am and Paris 3am Saturday morning, or any time thereafter here:

However, "one way" live sitters are encouraged to come into the Zoom sitting, and just leave the camera and microphone turned off: Join live (with or without a camera & microphone) on Zoom at: TREELEAF Now OR at DIRECT ZOOM LINK, password (if needed): dogen

00:00 – 00:15 CEREMONY (HEART SUTRA in English) and Dedication
    00:15 – 00:45 ZAZEN
    00:45 – 00:55 KINHIN
    00:55 – 01:25 ZAZEN
    01:25 – 01:30 VERSE OF ATONEMENT & FOUR VOWS

PS - There is no "wrong" or "right" in Zazen ... yet here is a little explanation of the "right" times to Bow (A Koan) ...

      Hey team

I've just woken up from a double-overnight shift and it's only five minutes to go, so I'll join in with the live youtube today so I can duck out and get ready to go back to work in two hours when I need to - a bodhisattva's work is never done hehehe!!! As always, it is lovely to practice with you all whether live, via youtube, or timelessly (i.e. watching the recording later). Deep bows to you all

So good to practice with you all once again tonight. It feels great to be back.

And tonight's post-Zazenkai tea time really had it all . . . bank robbers, paid assassins, adulterers, wow!

Here is the Zen of Everything Podcast for this week, which references sometimes getting angry, jealous, even having sexy thoughts about the neighbor, as a Buddhist ...

... although that's not the same as acting upon such thoughts.

'The ZEN of EVERYTHING! Podcast' ... Ep. 107: Bad Buddhists

Aren't buddhists supposed to maintain equanimity all the time, not have bad thoughts, not be jealous or angry?

Thank you Jundo and everyone. After listening to the talk today, I feel very much more confident and glad that I practiced for a year before preparing for Jukai and confirming my commitment to the Precepts. I have grown so much in the past year and I am ready.
