I know exactly the little critters you are referring to. Here we call them Sow Beetles. They are usually found in areas where there is wet wood.

Hey Krissy,

Yes it is going to be at the same time, however this weekend it is going to be on Sunday August 4th. Jundo mentioned this in the last zazenkai. So same place and time, just on Sunday. =)
