I want to say that my son, Leon, had a good reason not to join us for Zazenkai with his friend. Leon has been away for several days with a volunteer group (his first real volunteer excursion) that went to the other side of Japan to help repair the houses of folks who suffered damage in big typhoons and landslides this year. That's him on the left. The group organize kids in middle and high school to join in periodic activities like that.
