I am sitting the retreat with you all. I started yesterday and just wanted to take a moment to tell you my heart is full of gratitude for all that goes into this retreat. Jundo, Unsui and all members...thank you!
I am sitting amid the controlled chaos of new water pipes being installed just outside my home, sipping my tea from bottled water in case the water is turned off for a while...a truly perfect time for retreat.
Now back to it.
Gassho,
Kelly/Jinmei
sitting all day/ lah

Just like to to thank Jundo and all Unsui for this Rohatsu and the valuable lessons it has taught and the opportunities to practice. As my first retreat, despite being spread over a number of days, I have found it illuminating, insightful and enlightening - probably all in the same paragraph if you grab a Thesaurus!
So with aching legs and head, especially with the combination of Rohatsu and Jundo-athon, I'd like to give some special thanks. Shokai for giving me the nudge I needed to get off the fence and take on Jukai. Shingen for a exchange we had very early on in my time here about finding compassion, which at the time seemed hard for an old time biker but has grown since that exchange. And Kyonin for being a breath of fresh air and the only obe who could bring Metallica to a Zen Buddhist platform \oo/. Now you know I will make a musical link, song title whatever to all aspects of life, ala Jethro Tull Life's A Long Song etc, so many of you have heard his reference to Wherever I May Roam but will be none the wiser to the song, here's the official video -
And just for Kyonin here's another track from James and the boys who's lyrics resonate with the messages and teaching here to me, can't imbed the vid as only one allowed per post but hopefully the links will do
And just for the hell of it, as I'm sure a Kyonin will get some "kensho" from this recording "The Call of Ktulu" that to me is as good as the Call Of The Awakened One.
