Great talk! I love how Treeleaf views the more mystical aspects of Buddhism; it’s not required, but not forbidden either. There’s a freedom there that is really a breath of fresh air compared to other traditions I’ve been a part of or come in contact with.

            Thank you Jundo Roshi.

I agree with you. The esoteric practice for me can be helpful as long as it is handled with wisdom. But if it increase delusion, better not to practice it.

As Zen Practitioners, I think esoteric practice is optional. Yet, if we read the heart Sutra, it is clearly stated that the Prajna Paramita is the greatest mantra. And Zazen is the Heart Sutra in flesh. In Zazen we become the mantra. Mantra means seal of the mind. Zazen is the seal of all Buddhas mind.

And the greatest miracle is not hocus pocus to be wealthy, or to levitate on air. For me, if we can be calm even though life give difficulty, that's miracle. When we can forgive and love someone who hate us, that's miracle. And when we free from delusion, that's the greatest miracle.

            Gassho, Mujo
