Odessa and other places in Ukraine continue to be hit hard. Sadly, there were child deaths in Russia too. War is the stupidity and wastefulness of humankind.

Russian strikes killed seven people in Odesa, and at least four people in Kyiv, according to local officials.

Russian strikes killed at least 14 people in Ukraine, local authorities said Thursday, April 16, after Moscow rained missiles and drones on its neighbor in overnight attacks. It comes after the end of a 32-hour Orthodox Easter truce marred by accusations of mass violations, according to both countries.

Kyiv's air force said Russia deployed 659 drones in the barrage and 44 missiles, adding that its air defense units downed 636 drones and 31 missiles. Moscow has fired hundreds of drones on its neighbor almost nightly since the beginning of the four-year war, with Kyiv regularly carrying out strikes within Russia in response to its attacks.

Missile and drone attacks on the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa killed seven people, the head of the city's military administration Sergiy Lysak wrote on Telegram. Strikes on the capital Kyiv killed at least four people, including a 12-year-old boy, the city's mayor Vitali Klitschko said.

Across the border, two children, aged five and 14, were killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in Russia's Krasnodar Krai region, its governor Veniamin Kondratyev said on Telegram.
