Sunday Sit with Washin - March 10th, 2024

    Hello everyone,

I thought that for the announcement of this week's Sunday Sit, I'd list the ongoing wars I am aware and thinking of when scheduling the streaming or preparing for our Sunday Sit.
I looked something up on wikipedia and stumbled over a list of ongoing armed conflicts, which is much too long to list it here . ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...rmed_conflicts )

Please join us again this Sunday, sitting for peace in the Ukraine and around the world.
Lead by our Washin from the Ukraine, we are practicing together from the Ukraine and Russia and from all over the world, sitting for peace.

You can check the Treeleaf Practice Calendar for your local time here, under the listing Sunday Sit (Zazen for Peace): https://www.treeleaf.org/now/#calendar

We meet in the Treeleaf Scheduled Sitting Room: https://www.treeleaf.org/now/go.php?l=ssr password if needed is << dogen >>

A livestream of the meeting can be found here:

The format of the sitting will be:

    - Heart Sutra
    - Zazen 40 minutes
    - Verse of Atonement and the Four Vows

All are welcome. Please, join us! No prior experience is required - just follow along - come sit with us.

    Gassho,
    Kotei sat/lah today.

    義道 冴庭 / Gidō Kotei.
Being a novice priest doesn't mean my writing about the Dharma is more substantial than yours. Actually, it might well be the other way round.

Oh, and if I am not mistaken,
please be aware that the Daylight saving adjustments in some/most/all? places in the US happen this weekend, so the beginning time for the Sunday Sit, which is anchored in Ukrainian time, will change until the Ukraine changes to Summertime at the end of this month.

    Gassho,

I am a novice priest-in-training. Anything that I say must not be considered as teaching
and should be taken with a 'grain of salt'.
