Dear All,
Our Rev. Washin will host a special Zazen Sitting Sunday for Peace, Children and the Injured, live from Ukraine. Washin will join us from Odessa, where a sea invasion is expected in the coming days. Washin has now left behind home in the beach area with what he can carry, and has moved about 30km inland, staying with a friend who has built an underground shelter. He is also engaged in efforts to help others in the population who are fleeing. He is doing his best to keep in touch with his Sangha, who are also dispersed, but some of them will try to attend this event online if they can. We hope that many, many Treeleafers and many others from the greater Buddhist Sangha will make an effort to join in support and encouragement of our friend Washin and his Sangha members at this terrible time.
He plans to host Zazen live from there, at the following times:
Today, Sunday, March 6th, beginning at 6 am Los Angeles time, 9 am New York time, 2pm in London, 3pm in Paris, 4 pm Kyiv time, 5 pm Moscow time, and available for sitting anytime thereafter in recording.
The short schedule is:
We have invited, and expect, many people from the wider Zen Buddhist world to join us and to sit with Washin for peace (including, may I mention, some Zen people in Russia who have indicated that they will do their best to attend in fellowship, if the internet is not blocked.) If possible, members of Washin's Odessa Sangha will also join us for Zazen from their various locations.
As well, please be aware that the internet and electricity are very unstable in Ukraine now. If, for any reason, Washin cannot attend, we ask your understanding, and we will sit with him in our hearts.
We will meet in the Treeleaf Now Scheduled Sitting Room: https://www.treeleaf.org/now/go.php?l=ssr
[PW if needed: dogen ]
Please come a few minutes before start time.
You may come in with camera, or without camera, as you wish. It will be lovely for Washin to see your face and name there to offer support. You can also "view only" the event, or join afterwords, at the screen below:

Our Chants:
VERSE OF ATONEMENT:
All harmful acts, words and thoughts, ever committed by me since of old,
On account of beginningless greed, anger and ignorance,
Born of my body, mouth and mind,
Now I atone for them all
FOUR VOWS (to be recited 3x):
To save all sentient beings, though beings numberless
To transform all delusions, though delusions inexhaustible
To perceive Reality, though Reality is boundless
To attain the Enlightened Way, a Way non-attainable
All harmful acts, words and thoughts, ever committed by me since of old,
On account of beginningless greed, anger and ignorance,
Born of my body, mouth and mind,
Now I atone for them all
FOUR VOWS (to be recited 3x):
