    OnBeing - James Martin, SJ

    Hi friends,

I've been ambling around the margins for quite some time, reading, listening and observing. A podcast from On Being struck me as relevant to our sangha. It features a conversation with James Martin, a Jesuit priest. One does not have to embrace Martin's Christianity in order to appreciate his world view, and I was struck by several of his points. Among them was the description of the Jesuits as a religious order, rather than a monastic one. I think the role of an engaged priesthood is appropriate for our mission.

Then again, I may be completely off base.

    Gassho,
    Shujin

    Hi Shujin

Thank you for the link. I have listened to quite a few good podcasts from On Being. I like the way Krista interviews people.

Other religious folk can have a lot of wisdom.
