Hi Bill,

You know, Nishijima Roshi is one of those tough old Japanese guys who does not tell anyone when he is feeling ill or what is going on with his health. So, the only information we have is from a casual comment he made in an email to someone last week that makes it sound like maybe it is just for tests ... but nobody is sure. We don't even know what hospital he is in. He once told me years ago that he specifically told his family members not to "bother us" with such things. I'm pretty sure that he doesn't even want much of a funeral when the time comes.
