    FORUM UPGRADE: POSSIBLE DOWN TIME

    Hi,

    Skye has graciously offered to upgrade the forum today, which may mean a few hours of down time. But, hopefully, it will fix some of the glitches.

    In Zen, there is no where to go, no complaints, nothing to improve ... yet we upgrade to fix the glitches. That is your 'Tech-Koan' for today!

      Upgrade complete; some things still need tweaking, like...

      1. Rebuild search index (search may not work properly until tomorrow)
      2. Give it a nice Treleeaf graphic style
      3. ??

      Mostly I'm just posting to see if posting works

          Well done Skye, looking very nice and fresh. As a Mac user this interface is much better as it's now full wide screen as opposed to the old one which was small and narrow and at times hard to see. Ten out of Ten and congratulations on a job well done!

          Jundõ's sandpit just got that much better to navigate and read.

              I'll work on changing the blue theme to green tomorrow.

                                          Hi Skye! Looks fab! One thing I couldn't quite find was a key to the icons. I was a little confused by the blue vs. red circles, the sometimes scrolling text vs. static, and the red star vs. no red star inside the circle. Especially confusing was the blue circle with scrolling text with red star (asterisk.)

                                                      Lynn, AFAIK red means unread posts, a star means you've posted in the thread, and scrolling means there are a lot of posts. Its kind of cluttered to my eyes... I haven't finished tweaking the "look and feel" yet.

                                                      Glad you all like it!

                                                      Unfortunately the webhost (globat.com) is painfully slow, so this may not fix double-post or other issues. I wrote a test script and the host is running 10-100 times slower than it should be (!) - apparently we're not the only ones to notice:

                                                      So there may be a host switch at some point.
