To save all sentient beings, though beings are numberless.
To penetrate reality, though reality is boundless.
To transform all delusion, though delusions are immeasurable.
To attain the enlightened way, a way non-attainable.

I would recommend two times a day for sitting, three if you can squeeze it in to an already busy schedule. I have found it to beneficial.

to quote a very wise man:
"I am what I am and thats all that I am Im Popeye the sailor man!!"
Toot Toot!
Your right its not brads job to be some other way... I still dont dig his shit but then im free to put down the shovel and go do something else.
I think analysing every experience we have is pointless. But its awfuly hard to learn any thing by letting it all go with out having a closer look.
IE - I am angry when i get stuck be hind the slow racing clump taking up 2 lanes in traffic. should i just be there with my anger while i drive or should i take a closer look at why im angry? i think the latter will help me find the way to just be while in traffic rather than just being angry in traffic.
Just sitting is helpful and so are the precepts. both are wonderful on their own but for me together is where they shine. And when brought together that shines through me (my actions etc) thats Dirks-t.m. zen buddhism. I dont think one size fits all but with base material we can all sew it into something that fits us right.
