Wednesday Evening Zazen

Hi all,
Like the other priests I'll be holding (continuing to hold) a weekly sitting. Join me if you can for Wednesday Evening Zazen:
each Wednesday evening at 9PM GMT, in the Treeleaf Zendo on Google+.

The format from now on, like Shohei's, will be:

Heart Sutra (in Japanese)
Dedication
Zazen 30
kinhin 5
Zazen 20
4 vows and verse of atonement

I hope to see you in the Zendo!

First "live" zazen for me. I had no camera but it worked out anyway. And I found out that I really have to work on my kinhin I can't concentrate either on the footwork or mind. I guess I'm a man who can't do two things at one time.

this is great. thank you myozan. I will join next week. the more sittings, the merrier, for me. bjorn, I hear you. I just try not to use webcast kinhin as an excuse to take a break. I don't know if it goes against the spirit, but sometimes I find myself going to (mindfully) make myself tea. gassho, Justin.

I am always happy to sit together with my fellow Treeleafers. We are all on this path together.

You should try and sit the weekly Zazenkai on Saturdays. That's important. After that, the novice priests also sit at specific times during the week: I've had a Wednesday evening sit for over a year, Hans sits live on Thursday, etc. keep an eye on the events in G+.

Dosho and Shohei also have regular sittings and Fugen organises the Tea Party each Sunday, which is an opportunity to talk about practice.

Bjorn: my understanding is that the attitude of mind in kinhin is the same as that in Zazen. However, I'd refer you to Jundo and Taigu's directions in this.

Jus: kinhin often offers a chance for a toilet break ... But making tea!

I have to sit earlier each morning as our house erupts at 7am on school days. I sit from 06.00am - 7.10am but I could join you some mornings. Let me know which mornings you will sit
