    Zen Noir DVD

    Hi all.

Has anyone seen Zen Noir yet?
If so, would you mind giving us/me a bit of a review?

    Thanks in advance,
    Bill

    Hi,

I have not seen Zen Noir, but this may be a good time to mention a couple of my favorite Zen-ish movies, if you can find a copy (in English) ...

First, absolutely, the movie that all Zen folks MUST see ... wonderful film ... "Enlightenment Guaranteed" from Germany. This review is typical ...

Second, a Japanese film "Fancy Dance" (available with English Subtitles):

Yohei, a punk roker, has to struggle between the appeal of modem life in Tokyo and his obligation as an eldest son to take ovr his father's position as abbot of a rural Zen temple. Though initially rebelling against the tough monastic discipline, Yohei learns to adjust. However his girlfriend shows up, enticing im toreturn to his rock 'n'rool roots... How can the Zen monk successfully adapt an age-old tradition to his modem life

I've always loved the 1984 version of "The Razor's Edge" (yes, with Bill Murray).

Sorry, Don'tKnow, I haven't seen "Zen Noir" either.

I wonder if mailing a cracked version of an out of print DVD to a country where a certain movie is virtually not available would be a breach of the 2nd precept. Maybe someone wants do discuss this by private message?

          Regards,
