Minor update from the American Airlines lounge in London...

I forgot the mini travel iron. Jinyu said he'd bring two with ironing boards... But just fyi that I dropped the ball here.

        Hi everyone,

I'm purchasing things I couldn't find last week in order for Rimon to show us his culinary talents!

I'll be picking up Taigu in Northern France tomorrow morning, we should be back at the retreat early (around 12h - 13h). As we will get there quite early it will be possible to prepare the zendo, everyoe will have time to put himself at ease in the rooms, time also for Rimon to check the food and eventually to buy one last thing at the supermarket nearby.
So, I won't be able to pick people at the station as I wanted but I think everyone knows how to get there!

Just in case my phone number is: 0032/487016749. If you have any problem with planes or trains don't hesitate!

Have a very nice day everyone!

A warm thought for those coming AND for the guys sitting from afar!

        deep gassho,
        Jinyu

          Hi All,

Though I'm not attending this year, I have been keeping up with all the posts on this retreat. It's great to see what you all, as a community, have worked hard to put together. Wishing everyone in attendance a safe trip and peaceful retreat!
Like Undo, I'm hoping to sit part of this retreat through any recordings which may later be available.

            Thank you John,

The basic principle for anybody is to move one s ar.. and get to the retreat.
Although space and time can be dropped, a bunch of guys are making use of space and time to make this retreat real. They deserve my greatest respect.

We will do our best, thanks to Shawn, to record bits and pieces.
Feel free to join and sit wherever you are.

One more update. I made it to Brussels and it is warmer here than Dallas! +10c/50f

Already saw that there is a Dali exhibit to check out and a chocolate museum... For after the retreat. :-)

Here is a quick pic of the streets:

                Hello everyone,

I just returned from the retreat and cannot find words to express my deep gratitude. To be honest I did expect it to be rather good, but right now I am speechless.

Thanks to everyone and particularly Taigu for making this retreat such an incredibly deep and authentic experience.

I'll upload a few photo impressions on picasa shortly.

                Wow, just wow.

                      NEW THREAD WINTER RETREAT

                      Wonderful!
A small step in space and time, but a giant leap for this Sangha!
                      In a spring outside time, flowers bloom on a withered tree;
                      you ride a jade elephant backwards, chasing the winged dragon-deer;
now as you hide far beyond innumerable peaks--
the white moon, a cool breeze, the dawn of a fortunate day

                        Re: NEW THREAD WINTER RETREAT

Hans summed it up perfectly. I will post up my experiences during the retreat in a subsequent thread, but it was a truly deeply moving experience.

I will upload more pictures when I'm back home tomorrow, as well as the videos. Here's a couple I've been playing with to whet your appetite!

Deep bows for everyone who made this happen...my feelings at the moment are beyond description.

                        Happy New Year.

Many, many bows to all of you!

It was an incredible moment... very intense and inspiring! Many moments I won't forget, many people so different and so friendly!

Thanks to those who could come and to the few who could stay in Brussels for the crazy evening (that ended dancing on the tables!).
