even Dorothy needed a munchkin to show her the yellow bricks

I suddenly realized as I geared up for my 4th attempt to establish a daily practice that I am Dorothy in the land of Oz. I'm in a new and strange environment but I am prepared to take the path on my own. The problem is I don't "know where to start." Oh I know its just a matter of starting, Know that intellectually. But deep inside the self that I have cultivated over the years wants someone to say "follow the yellow brick road." Not necessarily in a high pitched squeaky voice.

Once someone shows me that first yellow brick I will start skipping along. At times I hope to meet others. The scarecrow told Dorothy that "some go this way and some that as he hung on his pole."

And trust me i know there is a horde of flying monkeys in my mind just waiting to pounce once I take the first step onto the cushion.

Today I have vowed to start a daily practice. I will sit for 15 minutes every day and walk for 10. I will do so for the next 108 days.

In short, I'm off to see the wizard.

It would appear you have found the first brick on the road to me.... though I suppose one could say say its all yellow bricks no matter where you turn... its all the path.

Perhaps you can jump in on Google Plus and sit those 15 mins with one of the others in the Treeleaf gang to help you keep it going and gain some synergy and momentum, so to speak...

    Just IMHO...

Sounds like you are headed the right no-direction!

108 is a 'sacred number' ... not just throughout traditional Buddhism, but in Hinduism and other religious circles too. For just some of the many meanings of '108'. have a gander at this. It is wonderful:
