He is still with us in his hundreds of recorded Dharma talks, with that voice of which cuts through the universe like butter.

Thank you Taigu Sensei for the original post and Jundo Sensei for the link(Which still didn't work on my "smart" phone but did on the computer?!).

Wow what powerful imagery! Wonderful representation of a wonderful life and peaceful death(though I must admit some of the images were emmotionally difficult to watch!).

Does anyone know what was being chanted? The end credits just said who did the chanting but not what it was.

I sat sesshin with this guy couple of times. It is yet another one of those cases of not knowing what we have until it is gone (well, in my case anyway).

I never met him but have heard his voice so many times. Just this morning in fact. I'm sorry I'll never get to meet him ... but...
"like the distant echo/ of the rolling thunder in a summer storm/ your words remain".

In the video, I recognized a New Zealand friend in one of the photos of the funeral, looking directly at the viewer... the next day, I read that her house was badly damaged in the February earthquake and has to be demolished... :cry:

John, the chant is the Sho Sai Myo Kichijo Dharani which is a part of the daily liturgy at ZMM. Usually it is done in normal pitch and a bit faster though.
