    5 Day retreat

Starting right now, I will be sitting a five day retreat in the Zazen Hall.

What the Retreat will consist of:

    Zazen
    Kinhin
Oryoki (Not the forms, just breakfast, lunch, supper etc., and perhaps some bowing before the meal)
    Samu (cleaning stuff)

That's about it. I will set up the camera now. Will start in a bit. Sitting rounds are 15-30 minutes, then Kinhin. 12:00 lunch, then samu (maybe an hour or so). 10:00 bedtime. Morning 5 or 6 :00 shower, Zazen, samu, then zazen. You are welcome to join me whether it's 12, or bedtime, and so on. May be interupted by phone calls, life etc..

You know. We think retreat like "Oh my god retreat! Like it's a really big deal. But it not such a big deal. It's mainly a chance to open up past a lot of your stuff, and just realize the moment. As Jundo says.

          Here's the thread:
          viewtopic.php?f=23&t=3492

I'm very thankful for bieng able to sit this retreat, and I will be sitting for the next 3 days. Don't expect any "wow!" And extravaganza lol.

          Anyway, thanks for posting.

The one thing I hate to see is people give up without realizing that they are just who they are. Wrinkles and all. We are not perfect. We may have our moments (and plenty of them. I've had quite a few during this retreat), but there is no reason to give up hope. Just this. Who you are. Past the struggle and the disecting every moment, is you. Warts and all. grumpy and nice. Compassionate, and stupid.

To be honest, I "suck" at Zazen. I'm not a great retreat guy, or I can't sit for nine hours without flinching, but that's who I am. That's what I am (right now anyway), and there is always more time, more moments. Like now. Here.

              Thanks.

              Back to Zazen

I am sure that you can even let go of that harsh tone. People give up. And it is okay. they are not perfect as you say. Nobody is. Take these people with you when you sit, sit for them. This is kannon-Will true activity.

                  Hey Will,

We are all sitting with you there in China. I have looked in and seen you, sat with you, a couple of times ... as we are almost in the same time zone. Same timeless zone.

You are here in this room too. Same spaceless zone.

Thank you for helping me have the backbone to finish my retreat.

                    Hi Will,
I would love to sit with you some (It has been a very long time). But, I have a Mac and can no longer access the Oovoo zen-hall. Keep on keeping on. I'm still sitting with you - you just can't see me .
