We are currently reading two books together as one: THE RECORD OF TRANSMITTING THE LIGHT: ZEN MASTER KEIZAN'S DEKOROKU, translated by Francis Cook and (a books of reflections on the Denkoroku) LIVING BUDDHA ZEN by Lex Hixon. These tell the tale of 52 “Transmissions of the Light” —from Shakyamuni Buddha continuously from master to successor, from India to China to Japan
