As I understand it (and those with more experience than I--please correct me if I'm mistaken) a big part of the practice is just that--realizing when you're falling away and "getting back on the horse."

For me, it's starting that's the hardest part of zazen. Once I'm actually sitting with the timer going, I'm good. But starting...that's when I run into all the "just a few more minutes on the computer," or "okay, I'll do it, but let me get this done first" (and then never getting around to it). My new years' resolution was to do zazen every single day this year, and so far so good.

I've tried several of your suggestions and now seem to be back up on the horse (with the occasional stumble ).

      Thanks,
