Thank you so much for all the well wishes. The winter cold I had last week during the Retreat turned into a touch of pneumonia. I am feeling so much better today. Dosho, I sure hope your son feels better too.
Unlike America, were they send you home on the same day as your brain surgery, Japanese hospital tend not to want to send anybody home(and they treat you like royalty, throw every test at you, and it will cost me maybe the equivalent of $180 US ... political statement intended. Our European brothers and sisters may understand). So, doctor says I should stay a day or so longer. I put this Zen thing to the test yesterday while pretty miserable, and it works. The food is terrible, but Zen practice helps with that too. The nurses are pretty, but Zen practice helps with that too.
I had to look up. Fugen's Krya pa dig OJ ... It means "Get Well". But he is either wishing that to American football player/"man who shows why anger is a Buddhist issue" ... OJ Simpson, or saying I should drink lots of Orange Juice.
