Happy Zen Birthday

According to my old "spirit log," I am five zen years old today. Five years ago today I did my first sitting. No big deal, just a milestone I wanted to share with y'all. I've come a long way since then, all the way to being ready for entering first grade! Woo-hoo!

I'll celebrate later, because right now I gotta go sit some more...

Many thanks for posting about it. With the first anniversary of my joining Treleaf coming up I thought I might post some thoughts on that occasion, so you beat me to it...and I'm very glad you did. Perhaps others will do the same and may we all benefit from their wisdom. Fugen's point is well made though as we are all beginners which should never be forgotten. Not one, not two. Bows to all.

How selfish of me to make this thread about me! (but that's the way of 5-year olds :wink: ). What other zen birthdays are out there? How long have people been practicing?

(Not quite pre-emptive zennie: Every day is a zen birthday, because every day our practice is born anew.)

Happy Zen birthday Alan. I was 21 this year but didn`t have a party :cry: as I couldn`t remember the exact date. Think it was sometime in March.

Another anniversary - my wife tells me It`s 14 years to the day that we moved into this house. It will soon be a year since I joined Treeleaf - now that`s worth celebrating!
