Anyway, someday a Buddhist tattoo will come to remind the wearer of the Buddha's teachings on aging and impermanence ... and that 'Wheel of the Dharma' on someone's back may, with age, become more the 'Sagging Oval of the Dharma' ...
This is my fallback answer to why I would want to spend money on something that will not "last forever": "neither will I!"
The interesting thing is, I get the other side too: "how can you make a decision on what tattoo to get? It's on there permanently!"
I have a biodiversity tattoo and no regrets.. It’s just ink. When I go to the gym to weight lift I notice two things 1) I am usually the oldest guy by 30 or 40 years (I serve as an example not to give up ) and 2) I have the least number of tattoos

It comes and goes. it’s all impermanent

My tattoo is definitely more going than coming. Then again it is 40 years old.

This is for my dearest friends Rowan and Onkai who hurt their own self by taking their own life seriously in order to hurt their feelings about their loved so today I ask you both to please sit with me with Shokai who is like us and we could sit together on Friday at 8 as well before I love you both as much as anyone else and as dear friends. Be safe and be well.

Instead of tattoos, I am going to get hearing aids. I hope they help you with what happened with my brain surgery and I have been told they will help some.
