MUHO INTERVIEWS EKO, HIS SUCCESSOR, ABOUT HER BECOMING ABBOT OF ANTAIJI

Well, the title is self-explanatory. Eko has been abbot of Antaiji for some time now, since Muho stepped away. Muho is visiting now and he decided to sit her down and pick her brain on how she ended up where she is. The result is this short video of their discussion. For anyone interested, here it is:

I hope they find the best way that Antaiji may continue.

Without parishioners, in the deep mountains, with no real economic support, the buildings aging ... it is not easy for them.

Definitely not. But, Eko seems to have a wonderfully calm attitude. Like she says: they survive. ( as a living, breathing, moving part of the impermanence manifesting visibly, I would add [emoji1] )

very interesting . i have followed antaji , muho and eko . as far as I remember, there were only 4 when Muho handed over to Eko. and now during Eko there have been 8 to and from. I really hope that they find a way to make it live on.

I have clergy friends who went to tiny, dying rural churches to help them close and they are
still open 4 years later and 7 years later. Many spiritual communities seem to muddle through
keep the lights on. Eko and Muho both shine a beautiful light in this video.

Muho and Eko have published a new chat ...

It may be a bit easier to come for a visit and short term stay than in Muho's day ...
