Dear All,
I have opened (actually, updated an existing group) and will be moderating a Facebook group named:
The theme is described as this:
A group for discussion of the realizing of Zen and other Buddhist Teachings, and the making of a better world, through coming technology, medicine, genetics and traditional practices. While honoring the Buddhism of 500 or 2500 years ago, and while "being in the present," this group looks to the ZEN of the FUTURE, Zen and Buddhism 50, 500 or 2500 years in the future, what Buddhism will become in (and how Buddhism might help create) our impending future of automation, AI, genetic engineering, the merging of human and machine, space travel, virtual reality, extended life spans, nanotechnology and other technological changes and challenges that are just around the corner.
How do we head into such times while not forgetting simplicity, moderation, the natural and rustic, and that ultimately ...
Posts here must focus and inquire into how upcoming developments should be guided by Buddhist teachings, and/or how developments of the future might change and strengthen Buddhism. How can technology and Dharma come together to make a better world, and how can technology be employed to bring Zen wisdom to the world as never done before?
.
.
.
I will post writings by me there, and by others, maybe interviews with researchers related to these topics and such. Actually, no reason for anyone here to go there, because you get the same nonsense from me here at Treeleaf, in our the BUDDHISM of the FUTURE forum (LINK), and it will be just more of the same "old" stuff that is found here about the "new" stuff tomorrow.
