I am a big supporter of letting people see us be practitioners. Thich Nhat Hanh, speaking of the robes, encouraged monastics to wear them knowing it is beneficial for people to see them, and also mentioned that people want to see the robes, or the kesa.. I find that to be true. Not being stingy with the dharma, offering it generously to others, it is something I deeply believe in, so letting people see us in zazen is a good simple way of planting dharma seeds when we might not be able to offer something else or when we are not teachers.
