Upcoming Program on Dogen's Life and Creative Process (Online 2022 at Upaya)

    Dear All Dogenauts,

For folks who would like to hear about Master Dogen, Upaya Zen Center has a nice program coming up online. It features, among others, friend of Treeleaf, Dr. Steven Heine, the wonderful writer Ruth Ozeki, and the great translator of Dogen, Kaz Tanakashi. It is free, but a little donation to them is nice.

DOGEN: Life and Creative Process of Zen Master Dogen (Online 2022)
Roshi Joan Halifax, PhD; Roshi Enkyo O'Hara, PhD; Sensei Kaz Tanahashi; Steven Heine, PhD; and Ruth Ozeki
    Saturday, June 25,
    10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time (MDT)
    Online and free. Donations appreciated.

Zen Master Eihei Dogen initiated an uncompromised Zen monastic tradition in Japan almost eight hundred years ago. He was a sublime thinker. How he conceived his most creative and thought-provoking writings is a matter of great wonder. In celebration of Steven Heine’s definitive work, Dogen: Japan’s Original Zen Teacher, we will explore Dogen’s poetry, essays, symbolism, and practice interwoven with his life stories. Join the great Dogen scholar Steven Heine, and translator Kazuaki Tanahashi; as well as, Roshi Enkyo O’Hara, Roshi Joan Halifax, and Ruth Ozeki for this remarkable one-day program, a feast of Dogen’s great contribution to Buddhism translated into contemporary practice.

Jundo, I will go to this program this afternoon. I'm studying through The Great Courses called Wondrium. I might audit two Buddhist courses through EdX. I will not take on too much as I have done in the past. I have given up some medications with the help of my doctors. This means I must stay strict with my doctors advice, not overtax myself.

Oh, there is no request or need to attend this program, Tai, only if interesting for you.

Keep up the healing, my friend.
