    Four Noble Truths - Kanji

I am thinking of marking my 40th B'day with a tattoo.
I thought of getting the following kanji:

    ?

    ?

    ?

    ?

They are supposed to be the 4 Noble Truths and has been confirmed by a Buddhist priest in another forum. :P

Just double checking. Are these the kanji text for the 4 Noble Truths?

    Hi,

Why not just get a tattoo on your head that says "THIS SIDE UP"?

Okay, they are not the 4 Noble Truths in full, but rather, an acronym that stands for each one. In japanese "ku shuu metsu dou" Literally,

    Suffering,

    Desire-Attachment

    Elimination

    Way

Here is a simple explanation by a Chinese calligrapher.

Interesting idea. I have a 'Wheel of the Dharma' on my upper back and an Enso on my right arm. It can't be any sillier than a so-called 'Dharma name', oh yee who live in glass houses..

you mean out of shape guys can get tattoos? Like old bikers and such?

                j/k

I was curious about the ink not your physical shape. :P

                Sup to you tho.

sweeeet! nice work too. Yeah that's the thing with tats, they get old like anything else. Ahhh, I remember when i could spend cash on those. I have had one unfinished for years on my right calf. am up to 7 now, but haven't gotten any work done in over 6 years.

Did come very close to getting a bone through my nose, which would have required a dermal punch ( evil device that is essentially a hole punch for skin). All that no facial piercing stuff at work though. Good thing I didn't, am past that stage...so back to tats when i have cash. Next stop Xiaolin Dragon and Tiger for the forearms.
After that I'm done. Well done minus getting my raccoon finished. And maybe a Raven on my back...thought about some tribal shoulderpads too. LOL

I got a couple of tats to add, but I'll add 'em as the mood calls.

                        This is it here:

I think it's small enough and high enough that it won't be a problem - but hey - what a symbol of impermanence if it DOES sag!
