You are Invited to our DENKI KUYO Memorial Service for Electronics ... Friday ...

    Dear All,

Based on a traditional Japanese Buddhist rite, our Treeleaf Zazenkai this time includes a short ceremony and Chant to honor the electronics, computers, peripherals, software, wires, apps and smart phones which have served, extended and connected us. (details here: )

March 11-12th Treeleaf Weekly Zazenkai - DENKI KUYO Memorial Service for Electronics
    https://www.treeleaf.org/forums/show...or-Electronics

Please gather your ancient devices, hardware and software, plug-ins, keyboards and motherboards to be thanked for their aid, not tossed away lightly.

    電気供養

A taste of our Ceremony ...

Today we gather to mark and commemorate the service and impermanence of the tools of hardware and software which are bridges linking our Sangha and lives, the strands of Indra’s Net and the World Wide Web, 1G, 3G, 5G and more, AI and Ohm, Bodhisattvas of boundless bandwidth, all passing from this sphere of existence as the world of technology constantly changes. They are extensions of the hands, eyes, and minds of sentient beings, and we are grateful for their service.

    Dear Machines and Programs …

From the beginning, there is neither birth nor death, … nor invention, installation, running or true deletion. Yet all is booted up and shut down, and all composite things are impermanent, all files emptied, all data someday erased. Because of our particular karmic accumulation, like bytes and bits in an ongoing memory, we were able to encounter and employ you for the good of sentient beings, teaching Dharma and nurturing Sangha. ...

    Gassho, Jundo

By the way, as I was preparing for this event, I stumbled on this ...

... what every electronic Sangha needs ... LED Incense and candles, complete with their own remote control ...

They turn off automatically after 10 minutes, and the incense comes with little aroma cartridges for the real scent.

A bargain at about $35 US, just what the really lazy priest needs for those ceremonies from the easy chair.

Actually, quite practical from a safety standpoint. A typical review, original in Japanese:

My mother was a little old and worried about handling fire, so I bought a set for the home Buddhist altar this time. It is a set of two candles and an incense holder, but both are excellent. The brightness of the candle and the shaking of the fire are very good. In addition, you can arrange from three to one incense stick ..., so it is ideal for Buddhist altars. I was very impressed. If you look a little further away, both will be mistaken for the real thing. Thanks to that, my mother is very happy. On top of that, both can be turned on and off separately with the remote control, and you can arrange both or just one. In addition, even if you forget to turn it off, it has an automatic turn-off function that turns off after 10 minutes, so you don't have to worry about it staying on.

I rebuke this in the name of all the smoky, ashy and waxy buddhas and boddhisatvas that came before us! [emoji1787] [emoji1787] [emoji1787]

The Bodhisattvas of boundless bandwidth sounds a great tagline for this sangha.
