Membership of various UK "umberella" groups

I am looking for advice please. In Lincoln UK I have gathered a small group of friends who are meditators but perhaps not totally committed to Zen, but I would say are "Zen-Curious". What advantage or benefit is there in joining IZAUK (or becoming "friends of") or any other over-arching UK buddhist association?

Any words I write here are merely the thoughts of an apprentice priest, just my opinions, that's all.

    Hi Seiko

The IZAUK seems to be based around the teachings of Taisen Deshimaru. Unless someone follows his practices or is part of one of his groups, I can't see a reason to join. Likewise, with most other Buddhist organisations.

The only exception to that might be The Buddhist Society which offers some really good resources and events, including for Zen.
