    Hi

    7days Sesshin finished yesterday.
Because we need to do big ceremony, suddenly.

    This is important for us.

We prepared to do celemony ,and do lots of Samu.

We are now four members, and tough Sesshin from 2AM to 9PM.

    But feel very good!

If we do practice we can become new mind every moment!

Let’s try to continue. Also I will report in my time.

And I have lot of role tenzo at kitchen, dennan at main hall,Jyonin at meal and tea time.

            And sometimes have stretch time.

And here, head monk was only one teacher at Eiheiji,so very strict and good for learn.

Also our Sangha member is international,so our common language is English ,German, and Japanese.

I share pic at our Sangha when we make pickles.

Your pickles look great! The role of Tenzo must be difficult, particularly with that schedule, but it is important, isn't it?

Good luck and keep us updated.

Deep bows to the memory of Myotokuji.

Just to mention, in this Sangha (Treeleaf) we do not put any special value in the Full Lotus Posture. It is a wonderful, traditional way to sit for those who are able. People should try to sit in a cross legged posture if they are able, and if they can physically attain to do so properly. However, it is not needed for those who cannot. I believe that Master Dogen spoke of the Sacredness of Zazen, and he described the Full and Half Lotus as representative of that ... but there is no mysterious physiological value to the Full Lotus over other stable and balanced bodily postures.

Further, it can damage the knees over the long term, and is not possible for many even with stretches. In Japan, many folks over-estimate the value of the Full Lotus Posture, and there is no reason that Zazen needs to be in a cross-legged posture. In this Sangha, we encourage sitting in ANY balanced, stable, comfortable way of sitting in which the "body can be forgotten, and 'paid no nevermind.' ANY balanced, stable, comfortable way of sitting which allows one to sit for long periods is fine, and contributes to a balanced, stable state of mind.

It is also fine for people who need to sit with a Seiza Bench, a chair, or even to recline if there is a medical condition which requires.
