in search for an essay by Carl Bielefeldt

    hi,

i don't know where to post this, so i put it in this section of the forum.

in a book by Gesshin Greenwood i read about an essay by Carl Bielefeldt: Living with Dogen. I should like to read it, but where can i find it? Google says: Stanford university, but i am not allowed there.. Can somebody (Jundo?) help me?
    thanks in advance,

Sorry, Aprapti, that is from a 1999 seminar at Stanford, and I do not see a copy available online.

Let me ask through the SZBA (the association of Soto Zen teachers primarily in North America, to which I belong) if anyone has a copy they might share.

Okumura Roshi seems quite proud of the book including this essay, but it doesn't seem to be very available.

Still, the papers are available. I think the one you want can be seen here:

To be entirely clear, I am not a hōkan = 幇間 = taikomochi = geisha, but I do wonder if my preceptor was having a bit of fun with me...
