      You have my encouragement to sit in Santa hats.

      I told Dick, when we discussed this, that it is an "all and every Holiday" sitting ... Rohatsu, Channukah (I am still not sure the spelling ), Christmas, Winter Soltice, Just Saturday, timeless, Just this Moment, Kwanzaa, Bastille Day, New Zealand Waitangi Day (even though months from now, then is now and now is then) ... and 1001 more ...

              Thank you everyone for sitting together. A great way to start the day.

              Dick could you post the poem here also, if you have the time? I very much enjoyed it, and would like to read it again.

                  Thank you all who joined me. I will try to keep a poem reading a regular part of my weekly Saturday morning sitting. Here is the poem from 12/25.

                  The Zen Poetry of
                  DOGEN
                  Verses from the
                  Mountain of Eternal Peace
                  STEVEN HEINE
                  Tuttle Publishing. Boston.
                  1997

                  Snow is falling far and wide,
                  Each snowflake neither the very same nor completely different than the other ones;

                  Singing and dancing, they chase after each other,
                  Till the whole universe is made afresh with its new covering,
                  As the snow even conceals the moon and clouds,
                  And puts out the flame in our hearth;

                  All kinds of leaves and flowers respond differently to the cycles of the seasons,
                  Yet remain oblivious to the cold of night or the chill of winter—

                  So goes the preaching of the Dharma
                  By the pines in the valleys and the bamboos on the mountains

                  Gassho

                      Thank you, Dick. I really enjoyed the sitting and the poem. The time conflicts with when my brother usually visits us on Saturday mornings, but I will join when he doesn't make it. Deep bows.

                        Dick I enjoyed the poem very much. I wasn’t satisfied about not sitting with folks at least part of Rohatsu. However, with my surgery so recent, Jundo advised against it. I’m trying not to do as much sitting at this time. Sitting next year. Sorry this ran long. I’ll watch it.
