On the importance of practice and having time for not doing: A Dharma talk

I really enjoyed this Dharma talk. I do not agree with every single point made, but overall I found it very worthwhile.

Interesting talk. I didn't watch everything yet though. I would say that Zazen is like a mirror. It reflects both who you are and also who you aren't.

    Gassho,

Very nice talk, and good points relevant to our practice too ...

Fear, sex, sadness come up in the quiet of Zazen ... let them come, pass, like butterflies flittering through the room, nothing to grab.

A quiet time of settling the mind is vital.

I also agree with him that attending retreats is a powerful aspect of practice ... for people able to do so. People should really try to make the time.

Hyon Gak is a teacher in a Korean Rinzai style, which usually emphasis Koan introspection. However, the teaching here applies to Just Sitting completely.
