Is there a specific text that is written on a keisaku, or does the text differ from stick to stick?

Hi Ongen,
How are you?
I believe that the Kyosaku (as it is know in Soto Zen, and Keisaku in Rinzai traditions) may have any inspired poem or phrase, usually of Zen teaching.
Although the Kyosaku is not intended ever to be used in anger or violence, and is a "wake-up" to stimulate the energies of dozing monks, we typically don't use them in the Nishijima lineage. I keep one on the altar, and there it stays almost always.
