    The Zen Alarm Clock

I was searching for something else and saw a link for Now and Zen: Makers of the Zen Alarm Clock, and I had to go investigate for myself.

I think a Zen Alarm Clock should go off whenever it feels like it, just to bring you back to awareness like being smacked with a kyôsaku during zazen.

Or maybe it should never go off, because we're all awake all the time, anyway.

You can get some software for the computer that does that kind of thing.

like being smacked with a kyôsaku during zazen.
From my experience at Sojiji, the kyôsaku is asked for not just given. You should Gassho if you would like to recieve it when the monk walks behind you, and then Gassho to the side so they can strike you on the shoulder. The monk and you are one so when he strikes you he strikes himself. Kind of Zenny stuff.

The monk was also very gentle in telling me to correct my postion.

How is this for an acoustic "Zen" gadget? 8)

              That thing is awesome!

Anyone else here read Roald Dahl's great short story "The Sound Machine"? It's one of my favorites.
